Pennies for Points, one year later…
December 29, 2010 11:00 pm Games for Fun, Games for Points, GamingFrom a tweet in October:
- Just donated $193.33 to Child’s Play and Microsoft is matching. Total: $386.66. A penny for every gamerscore point I earned this year. #give
So there you have it. I donate and do charity in other ways too, but donating this way is a fun mini-game for me. 19,333 gamer points from January to October, nearly a year.
I’m going to do it again this year. I think more people should play along. I’d be curious if anyone would be willing to beat me. The gauntlet has been thrown!
If you’re a scared little weakling, keep in mind I’m a bit of a power gamer and achievement whore, so if you’re worried that $200 seems like too much, then don’t stress! 20,000 is actually a lot! Most people don’t go over 10,000. Think you can afford to donate $100 to Child’s Play at the end of the year? I bet you caaaaaaannnnnn…
Anyway, it’s fun to unlock achievements and think “Oh! those 10 points are 10 cents going to a good cause!” Make you feel a little warm inside while sitting in front of the TV and racking up sweet ‘cheeves!
I also dare you to sponsor me. If I get to spend YOUR money, you can guarantee I’ll get over 50,000 or $500 this year. Plus I give through Microsoft’s yearly Give campaign for its employees which doubles my donation. 2x Multiplier Bonus!
Anyway, other stuff:

Only 19,333 point this year, son? WEAK. Yeah, Cinnastickz is totally in. Good news is that if I end up traveling a ton this year I got this sweet new backpack that was specifically made to carry my 360 and all its accessories! It’s on!

Let’s do this ish! I blew through all the easy point games when I first came up here, which garnered me around 50k in one year. Those cheap dates are getting thin, but there’s still a few more I can dig up.
Maybe some new easy point games came out this year too…
Also, pics / link to backpack please. I would like one for future travels.
