Prince Ehreth and the Kingdom of Dreams #1

1:25 am PEatKoD, Stories

Sneedler was sitting in drivers seat of his six-wheeled Wagon of Time and Science. The wagon groaned and creaked as it traveled along the dirt road, pulled by two horses, Scout and Micki. Vials of alchemy components rattled against various pieces of scientific equipment including a Loplopatat, a Rattle-rattler, and an ultra-rare Fantastiscopeometer.

Sneedler gripped the reigns and thought about his long time friend and ruler of the Kingdom of Dreams, Prince Ehreth. He fondly reminisced all the adventures they’ve been on and all the times the Prince had saved him from certain death.

He looked to the East and saw the Ivory Tower of Infinity on the horizon. He couldn’t wait to see his friend and Monarch again.

A cold wind blew across his face. He got goosebumps. Something was wrong. He’d never felt a wind like this before. Cold winds rarely blew this time of year this close to the Center of Infinity.

Sneedler pulled Scout and Micki off to the side of the road. He went into the back of his wagon and dug out jar labeled ‘Red Wolfbird Feathers and Beaks’. He jumped out of the back of the wagon, reached into the jar and grabbed a mixture of it’s soft and sharp contents.

Sneedler cast his hand into the air and opened his palm. The beaks flew in an arc then landed a few feet away. The feathers, instead of floating away like he expected, fluttered, and slowly fell to the ground.

He felt a sick feeling in his stomach. This was not right. He reached into the jar and tried again with the same result.

Sneedler tried again and again in futility. He began to sweat. He pulled out his griffin-silk handkerchief and patted his forehead. He ran back to the front of his wagon, leapt into the drivers seat and snatched up the reigns.

“HEY-AH!”

He whipped the ropes and the horses took off like a shot.

Can’t be. Impossible. Must be old beaks and feathers. Must be. Mislabeled even.

He looked across the horizon. Dark clouds began forming around the middle of the Tower of Infinity.

Sneedler stared at the clouds for a few seconds in disbelief. Reality snapped him out of his trance.

“HEY-AH! GO YOU BEASTS! FLY! FLY TO INFINITY! FLY! FLY! HEY-AH!”

Sneedler began sobbing uncontrollably as Scout and Micki glowed a bright orange. The two horses and the Wagon of Time and Science began levitating off the ground.

Together, they raced to the Center of Infinity at the speed of sound.

Yes! Is this like a multi-part choose your own story adventure. I think it should be, you need to give us options at the end.
